Joining the Peninsula Young Democrats

The Peninsula Young Democrats (PYD) was founded in 1999 as a caucus of the Peninsula Democratic Coalition (PDC), the largest Democratic club in Santa Clara County. PYD is dedicated to providing Democrats age 35 and younger who live or work on the Peninsula opportunities for political participation and conversation. PYD is chartered with the California Young Democrats.
Any member of the PDC who is 35 years of age or younger is automatically a PYD member. If you are not already a PDC member, you can join the PDC (and PYD) using one application by clicking on one of the links below. For your annual PDC/PYD membership dues, you'll receive a subscription to the monthly New Democrat newsletter, and a myriad of opportunities to help elect Democrats to office, learn about important local, state and national issues, and network with local elected officials and Democratic activists. While "official" PYD members must be age 35 or younger, all "young at heart" Democrats and regular PDC members are invited to attend PYD events, and vice versa.

The PDC offers three membership rates:
- the standard $25 rate for individuals
- a discounted rate of $15 for students and seniors
- a household discount where you and your spouse or partner can both join for $30
Please Note: Your PDC membership will expire 12 months after receipt of your application.
